Erin’s interest in physical therapy started after a hip injury from soccer during her middle school years. She was impressed with the knowledge her physical therapist had regarding the human body and with how he had gotten her back to soccer and running. She knew she wanted a career in helping others get back to the things they love doing. Erin attended California State University, Fullerton where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology while running on scholarship for both the cross-country and track and field teams. She then earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Chapman University in 2015. Since then, Erin has been working in the outpatient orthopedic setting, the same setting she received PT in when she was hurt years ago. Erin strongly believes in one-on-one time between physical therapists and their patients. She feels that each patient deserves the full attention of their therapist and the chance to work together toward their goals. She sees tremendous value in working with patients in their homes, at work, or on the field as there are times where the difficulties in these settings cannot be replicated in a clinic. When Erin is not treating patients, she is teaching swing dancing in San Diego, competing in swing dance competitions with her husband, Derrick, or spending quality time with her cat, Mylo, on the couch.

Kathryn Affleck, MSPT received her Bachelor of Science in Physiology from UC Berkeley and then earned her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. She has over 20 years of experience in orthopedic physical therapy, and she applies her love of physiology in her practice. She feels strongly about the one-on-one, full hour treatment model which provides the best possible outcome for patients. It allows for full and ongoing analysis of symptoms as the program progresses. It ensures a relaxed, therapeutic engagement with time for education, practice, and understanding of treatment methods. Patients receive the benefit of full attention, so their specific concerns and goals are addressed in detail. Kathryn practices mindful mechanics, functional therapy, and her treatment is often Pilates based. She uses manual therapy to help facilitate healing, motion, and strength. Her goal is to give patients the knowledge and power to take control of their symptoms and recovery. She has particular experience in upper extremity/hand therapy, as well as lymphatic drainage techniques used to reduce swelling. Kathryn loves the outdoor and spends her spare time gardening and playing tennis.
